KTR inaugurates 248 units of 2BHK housing scheme
He said Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s vision of free houses for the poor was being executed successfully

Hyderabad: Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) minister K.T. Rama Rao on Friday inaugurated 248 dwelling units at 2BHK Housing Colony in CC Nagar, Bansilalpet, that have come up at an estimated cost of Rs 19.22 crore.
The minister said that the market value of each house was around Rs 40 lakh. He said that the State government has constructed 2.85 lakh double bedroom houses in Telangana by shelling out a whopping Rs 11,000 crore against the total project cost of Rs 18,000 crore.
Speaking later, the MA&UD minister said that no other state can boast of such a massive housing scheme. He said Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s vision of free houses for the poor was being executed successfully by R&B minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy. He said that several people have benefited from the welfare schemes that have been initiated by the state government, including Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak.
"Building a house and performing the marriage of sons and daughters are the most difficult tasks in one’s life. This is being addressed to immense levels by the Chief Minister to the delight of the economically weaker sections,” he said.
Meanwhile, these 248 dwelling units, spread over 18 blocks and built by Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), have a plinth area of 560 sq.ft. The cost of each dwelling unit worked out to Rs 7.90 lakh apart from an additional Rs 0.75 lakh towards infrastructure, which include CC roads, external electrification and drinking water facilities.
