Bengaluru: There could be a celebration in the BJP camp if and when Mr K.C. Venugopal is removed as in-charge of Karnataka. For, as sources in the saffron camp themselves confessed, Mr Venugopal had given a boost to the Congress’ campaign, making the BJP stare at the bleak prospects of losing the coming elections. that they would rather have an active and energetic leader like the AICC general secretary than the their own hamstrung netas.
Mr Venugopal has effectively launched the Mane Manege Congress campaign and closely monitored the forming of booth-level committees, taking the wind off the BJP sails. Worried with the growing presence of Mr Venugopal, the BJP recently found an alternative route to counter him by taking up the alleged solar scam and his alleged relationship with one of the main accused, Saritha Nair. The BJP has decided to protest against him whenever he visits Bengaluru. But sources said a section of BJP leaders is opposed to dirty tricks adopted as several in their party are facing allegations of sexual misconduct.
