Revanth Reddy seeks action on Akkineni Nagarjuna's N-Convention
Hyderabad: Telugu Desam MLA Revanth Reddy on Friday questioned the delay in removing encroachments in Thammidi Kunta Lake near Hi-Tech City.
“Cinema heroes are role models for the people. They should promote good things as people follow them. But N Convention function hall opposite the Hitech City had encroached half of the tank and constructed a boundary wall. But till date, the encroachments have not been removed,” he alleged.
He added, “Function hall was contructed after occupying several acres. It has come to the notice of the government and highlighted in TV channels and newspapers. To which, Akkineni Nagarjuna too had reacted. So why doesn’t the government remove encroachments? Who is stopping it? When the action will be taken?”
Irrigation minister T Harish Rao, who was answering questions on the Mission Kakatiya, initially said the lake comes under the GHMC. But he promised to take action. It might be recalled that after a GHMC order, a shed was removed but subsequently no action was initiated.
