Manda quits BRS, Joins Congress along with son
In a big setback to the BRS, party senior leader and former MP Manda Jagannatham and his son Manda Srinath have joined the Congress in the presence of AICC president Mallikarjuna Kharge, TPCC chief Revanth Reddy and Alampur Congress candidate Sampath Kumar.
Manda Jagannatham had been the special representative of the BRS in Delhi. The BRS senior leader had taken this step peeved over the BRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao not allocating Alampur ticket to his son despite repeated appeals. Instead, KCR had given priority to MLC Challa Venkatrami Reddy and given ticket to his associate in the reserved constituency.
Manda won thrice as an MP on a TDP ticket and once on Congress ticket from Nagarkurnool. There is information that former MLC Katepalli Janardhan Reddy is also likely to quit the BRS and join the Congress. Former BJP MP Vijayasanthi is also likely to join the Congress soon.
