Audio clip lands BJP MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar, collector in soup

Having won as an MP, Mr Kumar has been continuously attacking the TRS and its leaders on various issues.

KARIMNAGAR: The audio of an alleged conversation between BJP MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar and collector Sarfaraz Ahmed on the poll expenditure of TRS leader and minister Gangula Karmakar began circulating on social media platforms, attracting the attention of political circles on Saturday.

In the audio, the collector purportedly is giving details of the election expenditure of the TRS leader and the MP is expressing gratitude for the favour done.

Following this, TRS leaders have accused Mr Kumar and Mr Ahmed of trying to get Mr Kamalakar disqualified by showing the election expenditure as a reason.

Mr Kamalakar, who is now the BC welfare and civil supplies minister, objected to a government servant disclosing confidential matters to an outsider. He said he would take the issue to the attention of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.

Having won as an MP, Mr Kumar has been continuously attacking the TRS and its leaders on various issues. When RTC driver N. Babu of Karimnagar district died of cardiac arrest, Mr Kumar staged a dharna in front of his house. At that time, a heated argument took place between the police and the MP.

Sanjay then submitted a privilege motion to Lok Sabha Speaker. Since then, TRS leaders have been waiting for an opportunity to get back at Mr Kumar and the audio on Saturday gave them an opening.
