Six guarantees pulling other party leaders into Congress: DCC chief

Karimnagar: Six guarantees in the Congress manifesto have found good response among people. Their impact is such that several leaders of BRS are quitting the ruling party and joining Congress, declared DCC president and Ramagundam Congress party candidate Raj Tagore Makkan Singh.

He was speaking after corporators Shankar Naik of 15th division, Saleem Begum of 21st division and P. Yellaiah of 46th division, apart from Boggu Gani Karmika Sangam senior leaders N. Satyanarayana Reddy, K. Mohan and Penchala Tirupati, the main follower of BRS MLA Chander Patel, joined the Congress party on Tuesday in the presence of Manthani MLA and Congress manifesto committee chairman D. Sridhar Babu at a meeting in Peddapalli district on Tuesday.

Makkan Singh maintained that ruling BRS has deceived people with fake promises during its two terms. Not just people, even ruling party leaders are not believing in the promises made in the latest BRS party manifesto released by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.

“That is why, they are quitting BRS and joining Congress, which fulfilled its promise of giving separate statehood of Telangana,” the DCC president underlined.

In Dharmapuri assembly segment of Jagtial district, around 250 youth of Dharmaram mandal led by BRS youth wing president Bonagiri Srinivas quit the ruling party and joined Congress in the presence of DCC president and Dharmapuri assembly segment in-charge Adluri Laxman on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Laxman demanded that welfare minister Koppula Eshwar release a white paper on the development he has taken up in Dharmapuri constituency.

He alleged that the minister built his camp office at an expenditure of ₹2 crore, but has not completed construction of the double bedroom houses in his constituency.
