Opposition: TRS chickened out of Assembly due to fear of Congress, not Covid
Hyderabad: Congress Legislature party leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Congress MLAs on Wednesday said the ruling TRS cut short the monsoon session for fear of the opposition not Covid-19.
Reacting to the decision to adjourn the session sine die, Congress members staged a press conference in which they said the ruling party ran away from the session because it lacked the courage to face the people’s issues raised by the Congress.
Vikramarka said that the TRS convened the session only to pass the FRBM Bill which would facilitate the state government for to borrow more.
He asked why had the state government not taken up a discussion on the Krishna River water dispute between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and also the issues of the sharing of Godavari waters and agriculture and crop losses
and unemployment.
Former minister Mohammed Ali Shabbir strongly condemned the early end to the monsoon session of the Legislative Assembly. In a statement, he said, "CM KCR is mocking democratic institutions like the Legislative Assembly by reducing their functioning to a formality. It seems that the state government convened the
session only to pass 12 bills and facilitate CM KCR to make a bunch of new promises and unveil a bundle of lies," Shabbir said.
