YSRC is responsible for death, allege TD leaders

TD supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu has alleged that Rao killed himself because of mental agony and physical pain caused him by the YSRC.

Hyderabad: Telugu Desam and YSR Congress leaders began accusing each other of causing the death of former Speaker Dr Kodela Siva Prasada Rao.

TD leaders said he committed suicide due to harassment by the YSRC government, and the ruling party leaders asked the Telangana government conduct an impartial probe into the death of the former speaker.

TD supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu has alleged that Rao killed himself because of mental agony and physical pain caused him by the YSRC.

“We have been witnessing harassment after this government came to power. Due to this harassment, he suffered mental agony. He was worried about what new ways he would be humiliated. He told me two or three times that he wasn’t able to sleep because of the hum-iliation,” Mr Naidu said.

Former minister Devi-neni Uma Maheswara Rao alleged that the former minister Paritala Ravi-ndra was eliminated during the Rajasekhar Reddy regime, and now the latter’s son has murdered Rao through psychological and mental torture.

Rajya Sabha MP Y. Sujana Chowdary alleged that Rao killed himself because of the mental agony and physical pain caused by the YSRC.

YSR Congress leaders strongly refute such allegations and accuse the TD leaders of trying to get political gain from the death of the TD leader.

Municipal administration minister Botsa Saty-anarayana has demanded that the TS government conduct an impartial probe into the death in view of the rumours spreading on social media and news channels.

He said there are news reports that Rao died of a heart attack and some reports indicated that he had injected a poisonous substance. He said taking Rao to the Basavaratara-kam Cancer Hospital instead of the government hospital gave rise to suspicion.
