Telangana BJP chief to skip Sept.17 events

Mr. Rao said Mr Joshi will address the gathering at the Liberation Day celebration at Patancheru between 4 pm and 6 pm.

Hyderabad: The josh of the Telangana BJP cadre has ebbed for the Telangana Liberation Day celebration on Tuesday after party president and home minister Amit Shah decided to skip the function.

BJP’s state Minority Morcha leader S.M. Imran Hussain said, “Amit Shah’s presence for the celebration of Telangana Liberation Day would have made a different impact. The cadre across the state was excited about the national president’s visit as across the state, the cadre had been working day and night on the recent party membership drive and have been busy making arrangements for the liberation day celebration."

A BJP member said, “We have been told that due to a recent minor surgery Amit Shah will not be able to visit Hyderabad. We were expecting him to come and participate in the celebration of State Liberation Day. We have been working hard day and night touring the villages and bringing awareness about the martyrs who stood against the Nizam’s cruel rule and fought his army with much courage."

BJP national executive member and MLC Ramachander Rao said that Mr Shah was busy with other important issues due to which he is unable to visit Telangana but under his leadership the celebration will be successfully carried out.

Mr. Rao said Mr Joshi will address the gathering at the Liberation Day celebration at Patancheru between 4 pm and 6 pm. “We are expecting a gathering of 3,000 people. In Patancheru and in all districts, BJP leaders will host the National Flag,” he said.
