No link between party, govt, asserts TTV Dhinakaran

Govt should ponder on kamal's allegations and act accordingly'.

Chennai: Beleaguered T.T.V. Dhinakaran made a desperate attempt to reassert his control over the party on Wednesday saying nothing would come out of the efforts for merger of the two AIADMK factions and even if the improbable materialises by some magic, the massive cadre strength remained with him.

This truth was demonstrated in the Monday Melur rally, he told reporters here.
Complaining bitterly that Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami had betrayed the trust reposed in him when general secretary Sasikala made him the CM, as he now chose to challenge her, Dhinakaran said the government had veered away from the party.

“There is now no connection between the party and the government”, he said, not withstanding the glaring stats that showed that a majority of the party legislators and MPs continue to remain loyal to CM Palaniswami whereas the Melur rally saw only 14 MLAs and five MPs supporting TTV.

Asserting that he would continue efforts to strengthen the party, TTV said his focus now would be to secure maximum number of seats for the AIADMK in the 2019 Parliament poll.

Asked to comment on actor Kamal Haasan’s twitter post on corruption, TTV said only the CM should respond to the charges and allegations.

“The government should ponder over these allegations and take the right path, the one laid by Amma (Jayalalithaa)”, he said.
