VIJAYAWADA: Telugu Desam chief N. Chandrababu Naidu has called upon TD MPs to raise the breakdown of law and order in AP and attacks on Dalits, tribals, BCs and minorities in the state during the upcoming session of parliament, scheduled to be held from July 20.
Addressing party MPs at his residence in Hyderabad on Monday, Naidu slammed the YSRC government for failing to protect the interests of AP by prevailing upon the centre to implement the provisions of AP Reorganisation Act, 2014. He blamed the government for not paying sufficient attention to assurances made by centre to the state when it got divided.
“The 10-year period for meeting these assurances and resolving issues will be getting over in just a few months,” the former chief minister pointed out.
He called upon party leaders to reach out to people and expose the failures of YSRC government. He said the ruling party has failed despite having 31 MPs on its side.
The TD chief asked the state government whether it has brought any project or central institution to the state in the last four years of its rule in Andhra Pradesh. He said YSR Congress government has failed on issues like Visakha railway zone, metro rail and central funds for development of backward areas in north Andhra region.
Slamming the state government for failing to execute the Polavaram irrigation project, Naidu asked his party MPs to raise the issue in the parliament and resolve any impediments in its execution.
Naidu said that they would take an appropriate decision on bills introduced in parliament based on various considerations.
