‘BJP will come to power in AP in ’2024’: Daggubati Purandeswari

She said that the previous TD Government was involved in several corrupt activities and thus it was defeated.

ELURU: Bharatiya Janata Mahila Morcha National in-charge and former Union minister Daggubati Purandeswari said that the BJP would assume power in Andhra Pradesh in the 2024 elections as many people in the state wants the BJP government to come to power. She participated in the BJP membership drive held here on Tuesday and said that majority of the parties in the country have made strong efforts to defeat Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the 2019 elections, but in vain, as the people of the country wants Modi’s leadership for the Nation.

She said that the Union Government was abiding by its all-round development of AP and water sharing should be done only with the acceptance of the farming community. She said that the party would take up agitation.

She said that former chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu accepted the special package instead of the Special Category Status, but, later he took a U-turn on the issue and detached from the BJP and later, he got a bitter taste from the people in the 2019 elections. Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy also misled the people in the name of Special Category Status with his agitations on SCS, though the Union Government made it clear that SCS can’t be given to AP. She said that the people of Lanka villages, Eluru, and the people in surrounding areas joined in the BJP.
