V. S. Achuthanandan redflags LDF Govt
Thiruvananthapuram: Senior CPM leader and Administrative Reforms Commission chairman V. S. Achuthanandan has written to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan opposing the government's stand on issues like giving magisterial powers to police, cartoon controversy and Kunnathunadu land scam.In the letter he released to the media, he said they were a deviation from the proclaimed left stand.
It was for the first time the senior leader made his view clear on the three issues which had rocked the state in the past few days.
He wanted a rethinking in all these issues as they can lead to the public losing confidence in the government. The government, as well as the chief minister, should be more vigilant on such issues, he said. The left stand on issues like freedom of expression, human rights violations and paddy reclamation is crystal clear.
The move to make Aadhaar for land registration is also a matter that needed rethinking, he said and hoped revenue minister E. Chandrasekharan would take note of this and act accordingly.
