Centre, Telangana failed to fulfil vows: K Jana Reddy in implementation of assurances
Hyderabad: Telangana CLP leader K. Jana Reddy said except for one or two promises that were kept, the Central government had not implemented most of the division assurances to Telangana in the last four years.
Speaking to the media on Saturday Mr Jana Reddy alleged that the state government had failed in achieving the implementation of division assurances.
He has suggested that the Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao ask the Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi, about the implementation of assurances given to Telangana state in the AP Reorganisation Act in the Niti Aayog meeting scheduled to be held in Delhi on Sunday.
Mr Jana Reddy asked the CM why the issue of reservations to STs and Muslims was not mentioned in the memorandum submitted to the PM on Friday.
After the state’s bifurcation, the Central government had given some assurances to both the Telugu states in the AP Reorganisation Act. But in Telangana State except for one or two assurances that were met, most were not implemented by the Centre in the last four years.
He asked the Chief Minister to bring pressure on the Centre for the implementation of the promises made. Former Union minister Mr Balaram Naik alleged that the CM was not sincere about setting up of a tribal university in Telangana. He asked the CM why he did not ask the PM, Mr. Modi about the implementation of assurances given to Telangana. He alleged that TRS Government was doing an injustice to tribals by taking over the Podu lands from them.
