No vacancy! Dr G Parameshwar tries to end CM debate
KALABURAGI: Deputy Chief Minister Dr G Parameshwar tried to put to rest the raging discussion regarding the possibility of a new Chief Minister replacing H.D. Kumaraswamy remarking, “at present the CM’s post is not vacant, let us not have a debate on it.”
Dr Parameshwar, who heads the Congress team formed for overseeing the party candidate Subash Rathod's campaign in the Chincholi seat, however hastened to add he is also in the race for the Chief Minister’s post.
He said that he was not aware of the context in which Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy and chairman of the coalition coordination committee Siddaramaiah have made statements in this regard.
“No exercise is being conducted now to elect a new chief minister. There are many leaders in the race...I'm also in the race,” Dr Parameshwar remarked. When his attention was drawn to the tweet by Mr Siddaramaiah on PWD Minister H.D. Revanna's prospects as CM, Dr Parameshwar shot back, “what's wrong in it?.
Mr Siddaramaiah and Mr Revanna enjoy a good relationship as they were together in the Janata Dal. That's why he said Mr Revanna can also become CM.” Dr Parameshwar berated the May 23 deadline set by BJP leaders on the fall of the coalition government. "Nothing will happen. Let Mr Yeddyurappa engage in whatever japa-tapa he likes, he will not become Chief Minister. This government is stable and it will complete its remaining four-year term,” he added.
