KALABURAGI: Home Minister M.B. Patil on Thursday lost his cool when the media sought his comments on the statements made recently by BJP leaders Shobha Karandlaje and P Renukacharya on the infighting between the coalition partners JD(S) and Congress.
“What is this. are you only interested in knowing my comments on the statements by leaders such Shobha Karandlaje and Renukacharya? There are serious issues like how the Prime Minister’s Fasal Bhima Yojana has failed and how the Prime Minister’s scheme is benefitting only those who are close to him. You portray yourselves as farmer friendly... but instead of highlighting these issues you are interested in knowing my comments on these leaders,” an angry Patil reacted.
When some reporters tried to counter him saying they had highlighted the plight of farmers, an irritated Mr Patil said, “It's okay then..record my statement...the Centre has not come to the rescue of the state government in combating drought...you highlight this first instead of asking ..... You media persons have to improve a lot,” he remarked before winding up his interaction.
