Bengaluru: The Chincholi Assembly constituency, which is seeing a bypoll on May 19, has almost triple the number of sensitive booths than Kundgol has. While it has 60 sensitive booths, Kundgol, where a bypoll will also be held on Sunday, has only 24, according to Karnataka Election Commissioner, Sanjiv Kumar
Speaking to reporters here on Thursday, Mr Kumar said four companies of the CRPF would be deployed to each constituency for the election, in addition to 1016 security personnel, including 396 police.
With the parliamentary elections having just been held, voters would be inked on the middle finger of their left hand, he revealed. In all, Chincholi has 1,93869 voters and Kundgol, 1,89,44.
Responding to a question, Mr Kumar said the commission had received a complaint on Mr Prajwal Revanna's affidavit, specifically about his property. It had also received a report from the Hassan deputy commissioner which was being verified, he added. “But to stay the election result, we will have to obtain an order from the court and act on it,” he explained..
