KCR failed NRIs, says Mohammed Ali Shabbir
Hyderabad: Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council and former minister, NRI affairs, Mohd. Ali Shabbir on Tuesday accused the TRs government of negligence and indifference towards NRIs’ welfare and concern for the labour from the state languishing in jails in the Middle East after being misled and cheated by job brokers.
In a statement, he accused the TRS government of lethargy, lack of vision and commitment and said, “Both Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and IT minister K.T. Rama Rao made public statements nonstop, on every issue on earth and forgot to implement them.”
Criticising the recent pronouncements of the government to set up an NRI Bhavan, Mr Shabbir Ali wondered: “What happened to KCR’s promise made in January, 2017 to set up a joint foreign office to reach out to students and job seekers?”
He said that the CM has been making statements off-hand without any idea of seriousness of the issue and travails of the poor job seekers overseas.
“Centres opened during Congress rule were closed, there is immediate need to start at least 50 such centres in all the districts. The other issue that the ration cards were cancelled or names of workers who went for jobs were deleted. This should be stopped as poor NRI workers are being deprived of the benefits of Arogyasri and other welfare schemes,” he said.
