BRS failed to fulfil dreams of Telangana: Bhatti

Alleges KCR neglects spinning mill in Anthargam, but wants to purchase VSP

WARANGAL: Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said on Monday that the dreams and aspirations for which a separate Telangana state was achieved were not fulfilled under the BRS government. Even after completing nine years of rule, the state government is in deep sleep and behaving negligently in upgrading the Zenco power project present in the Ramagundam constituency, he alleged.

As part of the Haath Se Haath Jodo padayatra, the ‘People’s March’ taken up Bhatti, after completing in erstwhile Adilabad district, entered the Murmur village of Anthargam mandal in Ramagundam constituency of Peddapalli district on Monday. On 32nd day, the padayatra began from Murmur village and concluded at Rachapalli village in Dharmapuri constituency of Jagtial district, covering Brahmanpally, Akkinepally, Putnur, Gudipally, and Jayyaram villages. The Congress cadres, leaders, along with women and youth, gave a grand welcome to Bhatti at Sripada Yellampalli reservoir.

Speaking on the occasion, Bhatti said that there was a lot of scope for the enormous development of the industrial region with the establishment of the Super Critical Power Project. Several hundred local youth also might have got employment opportunities with the upgrading of power projects. But the BRS ministers, MPs, and local MLAs do not have any commitment and are least bothered about the development of the region, he added.

For the sake of votes, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao is supplying Godavari water to Hyderabad, then why is he not supplying the water to Ramagundam from where the Godavari river is flowing? Why do the people of Ramagundam have to buy water to drink? What is the local MLA doing? Does he not bother about the people who voted for him, he questioned.

He said that in the name of allotting jobs in the Ramagundam Fertiliser Company Limited (RFLC), the local BRS MLA Korakanti Chander Patel collected huge amounts of money from the youth and betrayed them. The MLA did not return the money even after some youth committed suicide in depression.

Bhatti further added that in the past, the Chief Minister promised the people of Ramagundam that his government would not allow open-cast mining, but he gave permission for Singareni open-cast mining at eight incline colonies and transformed the entire industrial region into a burial ground. In the name of Mission Bhagiratha and the Kaleshwaram project, the BRS government collected crores of rupees in the form of commissions. There is no use for both projects taken up by the BRS government.

He said, “Without taking any initiative for the opening of the spinning mill that had been shut down for the past several years in Anthargam mandal, surprisingly, the BRS government wanted to purchase the Vizag Steel Plant.

After coming to power, the Congress will complete the Sripada Yellampalli lift irrigation project, supply water to every acre of land present in the Ramagundam constituency, and suspend the privatisation of coal mines along with the outsourcing system in SCCL. Indiramma Rajyam is possible only with the Congress, which has granted separate statehood for Telangana, he added.
