Visakhapatnam: N. Chandrababu Naidu says polls won, margin to be decided

Says Jagan Mohan Reddy is politicising Vivekananda murder.

Visakhapatnam: Launching his election campaign at Srikakul-am, AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said the party’s victory was a done deal, and the battle was only to determine the majority.

Addressing a public meeting, Mr Naidu said the AP government had taken up several schemes even though it had got no support from the Centre. Mr Naidu had earlier offered prayers at Tirumala.

He picked up the murder of YSRC leader Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy to criticise party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. He said there were several doubts regarding Vivekananda Reddy’s murder which he said seemed to come from a detective novel. He said all evidence had been erased from the scene. Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy wanted a CBI probe as he could “manage” Prime Minister Narendra Modi but he would have to answer the police, he said.

He said the ‘rooster knife party’ — a reference to the knife used to attack Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy at Vizag, which the TD contends was staged — had joined hands for the Federal Front of Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.

“They have to put pressure on TRS to give a letter in favour of special category status. KCR had once worked under me and is now trying to rule me. I have never tolerated anyone who tried to damage AP. KCR has objected to the Polavaram project and Jagan extends his support to them,” he said.
