CM Oommen Chandy took Rs 300 crore bribe, alleges PC George

Mr George said that the Speaker was acting on the instructions of legislature secretary.

Kochi: Kerala Congress (Secular) leader P.C. George has accused Chief Minister that Oommen Chandy of taking Rs 300 crore bribe for awarding the prestigious Vizhinjam international seaport project to the Adanis.

He claimed that the Congress party was planning to spent Rs 2 crore each in 80 constituencies, making the elections costliest with unprecedented money flow.

He also predicted Kerala Congress (M) chair K.M. Mani’s defeat in Pala this time. He would personally campaign against him.

“The Kerala Congress has lost its relevance and no decent person can associate with the party. Farmers have realised its degradation as a money-making tool for some leaders,” he alleged here on Wednesday.

The former chief whip also claimed that young voters would vote out the “corrupt” UDF government, and the Left Front would be able to make a good performance.

“During the poll campaigning, the religious leaders should refrain from making political statements,” he added.

Responding to revoking the Speaker’s act of disqualifying him as a legislator by the High Court, Mr George said that the Speaker was acting on the instructions of legislature secretary.
