Komatireddy faces ire of BRS men

HYDERABAD: Following Komatireddy Venkat Reddy’s comments over the pathetic condition of roads during his visit to Itikalapadu village of Shaligouraram mandal in Nalgonda district, the BRS men allegedly threw chairs and slippers triggering a minor scuffle between them and the Congress workers.

The MP who visited the local temple to attend an event while explaining his the ordeal to reach the village felt that the government which was spending huge amounts on infrastructure like the new Secretariat and Pragathi Bhavan in Hyderabad has failed to improve conditions in villages.

Following his “critical” observation, the BRS men who were already present at the temple threw slippers and chairs at him. Congress party workers came to his rescue and ensured he leaves unhurt.

PCC leaders condemned the attack on the Congress MP. Senior vice-president, Mallu Ravi demanded that the police initiate action against the culprits.

“This attack is a criminal act. The BRS should give up this kind of tactic, lest we respond. Those who are behind the attack should be brought to book,” he demanded.

PCC chief A. Revanth Reddy also condemned the attack. “We shall not keep watching this kind of attack on our partymen. The BRS men may not be able to "roam free" if they attack our leaders. We have kept the “balance sheets of everyone” and shall return with interest,” he said.

PCC vice-president Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy termed the attackers as “goons”.

“It is the democratic right of the Opposition to question the ruling party.

How can you attack a public representative,?” he asked the BRS partymen.
