CM Pinarayi Vijayan no foe, says K M Mani
Kottayam: Kerala Congress (M) chairman K.M. Mani on Friday said that he had no enmity towards Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and will support the good deeds of the government while opposing the bad ones. Inaugurating his party’s ‘Mahasammelanam’ at Nehru Stadium here, Mr Mani said many attempted to destroy the Kerala Congress but the party defeated all their moves. “It is now one of the biggest regional parties in Asia,” he said.
Mr Mani said the state and the central governments should be mindful of the agriculture sector and the demands of the farmers. KC(M) working chairman P.J. Joseph, who presided, demanded that the government implement the price stability scheme and solve the miseries of rubber farmers. KC(M) vice-chairman Jose K. Mani, MP, referred to the bitter experiences his party had while it was part of the UDF throughout his speech.
“Our activists worked hard during the elections but some UDF leader threw mud over each other and even put up rebel candidates,” he alleged. He dispelled rumours that there will be leadership change in the party and said Mr Mani, Mr Joseph and deputy chairman C.F. Thomas will continue to be at the helm. Earlier, hundreds of party workers from various parts of the state flocked to the Nehru stadium at Nagampadom. Joy Abraham, MP, and MLAs Mons Joseph and Roshi Augustine attended the meet.
