BDJS to break ties with BJP, keeps options open
Kozhikode: The BDJS is looking for new alliances in the state and planning to break off its ties with the BJP. BDJS national president Thushar Vellappally told a TV news channel here on Friday that cracks had developed in the NDA coalition and that the party would think of joining hands with any other party. It will not accept any positions that the BJP may offer it in future, he added.
There were rumours earlier that the BJP had turned down the BDJS demands for more posts in central institutions. It is said that the BDJS was trying to bag a few Parliament seats in the next general elections, but the BJP has rejected the demand as it has not made any significant strides in the state. SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan had said earlier that there was no NDA in Kerala, but only BJP. Mr Thushar's statement comes as an endorsement of his father’s stand.
