TRS Old Hyderabad office is now a marriage hall

The party has decided to provide it for marriages of poor families free of cost.

Hyderabad: The TRS party office in the Old City has been turned into a marriage hall to extend support to poor families, irrespective of community, to perform the marriage of their kith and kin free of cost in view of the cash crunch due to demonetisation.

Rashid Shareef, who contested for the Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat in the 2014 elections on a TRS ticket, runs the TRS party office in Mir Alam mandi of the Old City. He said on Thursday that the office has a hall that can serve as a banquet hall since it can accommodate about 200 people. The party has decided to provide it for marriages of poor families free of cost. Besides, food will be provided for at least 100 guests.

Mr Shareef said that they have taken initiative to extend support to the poor families after he noticed that several marriages were either postponed or cancelled in many parts of the city due to the cash crunch. He said anyone, irrespective of caste or community, who intended to use the facility can book the hall for marriage of their kin.
