Veteran TD MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao to contest in 2019 elections
VIJAYAWADA: Veteran TD MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao announced that he would contest in the 2019 elections on a Telugu Desam ticket and ruled out quitting politics.
He said he was ready to contest from any seat as per the directions of the party. He predicted that the TD would win at least 120 seats in the coming Assembly elections. Addressing the media in Guntur on Thursday, he said he and his son, Rayapati Ranga Rao, were ready to contest elections as per the orders of the party.
Sambasiva Rao said the Congress-TD alliance was limited to the Telangana state. He alleged that BJP state president Kanna Lakshminarayana had earned thousands of crores of rupees through illegalities and corruption.
He recalled that Lakshminarayana, who once lived in a shed, had now earned huge assets and crores of rupees.
