Keep your promise, make Dalit CM: Bandi

The BJP president questioned why the 125-foot-tall Ambedkar statue and memorial promised by the Chief Minister were not installed

HYDERABAD: Reminding Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao of his promise to appoint a Dalit as Chief Minister, BJP state president and MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar accused the CM of betraying the Dalit community by breaking his promise.

On the fourth day of the fourth phase of his‘Praja Sangrama Yatra’, Sanjay demanded that the Chief Minister provide three acres of land to all Dalits and ensure Dalit Bandhu to each and every member of the community, as promised.

He claimed that the BJP has always prioritised Dalits, with around 1.25 lakh Dalits incentivised to become entrepreneurs each year, and that he was prepared to debate his party’s contribution to the Dalit community.

“I am prepared to demonstrate the BJP government’s accomplishments for Dalits. Every year, the BJP government sets a new record by creating 1.25 lakh Dalits entrepreneurs,” he claimed. Sanjay demanded that the TRS government fill the 1.91 lakh government job vacancies identified by the Biswal Committee. “Unemployed youths are suffering as a result of the delay in filling vacancies,” he claimed.

While applauding the Telangana state government’s decision to name the new Secretariat after Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R Ambedkar, he pointed out that the Chief Minister had previously stated that the Constitution needed to be rewritten in order to bring about change in India, but now he has brought the Ambedkar issue to the forefront in order to divert attention away from the Delhi liquor scam allegedly involving his daughter MLC K. Kalvakuntla Kavitha.

The BJP president questioned why the 125-foot-tall Ambedkar statue and memorial promised by the Chief Minister were not installed.
Sanjay told reporters that the Chief Minister was attempting to erase Telangana’s true history by colluding with Razakar's descendants, who wanted to merge the Hyderabad state with Pakistan at the time. “Is it wrong for Hindus to celebrate Liberation Day, or is it right for Muslims to celebrate Integration Day?” he wondered.
To appease the AIMIM, the Chief Minister declared September 17 as National Integrity Day, he said. “Why didn’t the Chief Minister conduct the celebrations for the last eight years? Did he wake up after the Central government declared Hyderabad Liberation Day celebrations?” he questioned.

Sanjay stated that the state BJP brought the Central Government’s attention to the representation on naming the new Parliament after Dr BR Ambedkar.
People, particularly youth and women, greeted Sanjay with garlands as he passed through Balanagar, New Bowenpally and other Cantonment colonies as part of his Praja Sangrama Yatra. Interacting with the public, Sanjay took stock of civic issues such as potholes on the road, drainage issues, and drinking water shortages. During the padayatra, he also took part in the Engineers’ Day celebrations by paying glowing tributes to eminent engineer Mokshagundam Vishveswaraya.

Former minister G.Vijaya Rama Rao, Padayatra co-incharge T.Veerender Goud, official spokesperson N.V.Subhash and others accompanied Bandi Sanjay.
