Thota Trimurthulu joins YSRC, blow to Telugu Desam

AP Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy welcomed Mr Trimurthulu during a programme on Sunday.

VIJAYAWADA: Former MLA and important Telugu Desam leader Thota Trimurthulu has joined the YSR Congress, which does not bode well for the Telugu Desam in East Godavari district.

AP Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy welcomed Mr Trimurthulu during a programme on Sunday. He said more leaders of the TD would join the YSRC in the coming days and claimed that he joined the YSRC because of the dedication and development work done by Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Mr Trimurthulu said that the public trusted Mr Reddy and so gave power to the YSRC to develop AP state. He recalled that during the election he contested against deputy chief minister Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose but now there will be no political differences with the minister and other leaders of the YSRC.

He said that the Telugu Desam’s allegations against 100 days of YSRC rule is heedless, and the public distrusts the TD.

He objected to the comments of Jana Sena chief K. Pawan Kalyan about Kapu leaders joining the YSRC due to fear of Mr Reddy and claimed that there is no need to fear Mr Reddy, and besides Kapus also supported the YSRC in the elections.

Mr Kalyan is not the voice of the Kapus and that statement was his personal opinion. He said that he joined YSRC for the development of East Godavari district.

Mr Subhash Chandra Bose welcomed Mr Trimurthulu into the party and said they will work together to serve the public.
