New Delhi: Actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan visited the family of the 23-year-old techie who lost her life due to erection of illegal hoardings or banners that rattled the entire Tamil Nadu.

Several politicians and actors have asked their followers to not put up banners across the state. Actor-politician Kamal Haasan recently visited Subhasri's house to offer condolences to her parents.

“So far, we have ensured that our party members haven’t done this and we will continue to be firm and ensure that this does not happen in future too,” he said.

Subhasri died a tragic death when a lorry ran over her. The accident occurred when an illegal banner put up by an AIADMK functionary fell on her while she was driving. On September 15, Kamal Haasan paid a visit to her house to have a word with her parents.

After meeting her family, the Makkal Needhi Maiam leader told the reporters, "Those who committed this crime should be punished and the belief that they can get away with anything should be demolished."
