Kerala: BJP trains men in English, Hindi
KOZHIKODE: The state BJP has been making hectic preparations for the three-day BJP national council which is scheduled to begin here on September 23. Thousands of volunteers have been trained and the fund raising campaign is in full swing. BJP sources said that special language training focussing on Hindi and English was on for the volunteers. However, the BJP leadership is tight-lipped about the expenditure and the fundraising target.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will stay in the city for two days. He will also participate in an Onasadya on September 24. National president Amit Shah, union ministers, chief ministers of BJP-ruled states and Parliament members are expected to participate in the conference to be attended by 1,700 delegates. The organising committee has already booked 1,500 rooms for the delegates. Addressing a press conference, BJP state president Kummanam Rajasekharan said that they were trying to make it a foolproof event.
BJP Kozhikode district president T.P. Jayachandran said that 33 sub-committees formed for various duties were on with their functions. “Before the event our volunteers will visit every home in the state with the message of the national council meet,” he added. House visits were started from September 5, he said.
