KCR’s I-Day speech a pack of lies: Uttam

Uttam said that Rao kept repeating old promises and added a few more with each I-Day speech

Hyderabad: In a swift reaction to the I-Day speech of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, senior Congress leader and Nalgonda MP, N. Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged that Rao had yet again lied to the people of the state.

Speaking to the media after participating in 'Azadi Ka Gaurav Yatra' here on Monday, he said that Rao kept repeating old promises and added a few more with each I-Day speech. However, he has not fulfilled any of them.

"Instead of admitting failure and tendering an apology to the people, he has made hollow claims about developments," he said.

He said that Rao should have explained the state’s present economic situation.

"With debts touching nearly Rs 5 lakh crore and no increase in resources, the state government is not in a position to fully implement any welfare scheme. In the past Rao supported the Modi government at the Centre but failed to extract any benefits for the state. Today, TRS and BJP leaders are engaged in a blame-game to distract people's attention from their combined failures," he added.
