On I-Day, KT Rama Rao helps veteran’s kin to study
Hyderabad: A veteran’s daughter, who has approached TRS president K T Rama Rao on Twitter for financial help to pursue her dream of becoming a pilot, was in for a surprise on Independence Day.
TRS president Rama Rao called on the family and presented a cheque that meets the admission fee for Maha Lakshmi to join the Telangana Aviation Academy.
On August 10, ex-serviceman Veerabhadra Chari tweeted to KTR, seeking financial assistance for his daughter’s training. Responding to the tweet, KTR said, “Chari Garu, the valour and courage of a soldier like you is invaluable. Will do my best to assist you.”
After handing over the cheque to Mr Chari, KTR put up a picture of him with the father-daughter duo on his twitter account and said, “What better way to celebrate the Independence Day than to help an Indian soldier’s family. With the help of a friend (who wants to be private/anonymous), was able to help fund Sri Veerabhadra Chari’s daughter get into TS Aviation Academy.”
