I believe in the people of this country than in God: Pawan Kalyan

He said Jana Sena will stand by the nation unlike others who do politics.

VIJAYAWADA: Jana Sena president Pawan Kalyan said that leaders who know about the history of India will not indulge in corruption, injustice and anarchy.

He hoisted the tricolour on the 73rd Independence Day here on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion he recalled that Pingali Venkayya, the designer of the flag based on which the National Flag was finally made, died of starvation.

Mr Kalyan said, “I believe in the people of the country rather than God. There are writers who write on caste, region, religion but there is no one to write on the history of the nation."

He said Jana Sena will stand by the nation unlike others who do politics. He opined that Independence Day should be celebrated for a week starting from a week before August 15. Hoisting the National Flag was not enough; politicians should be committed towards fulfilling the promises made to people, he added.

Acting Chief Justice, High Court of Andhra Pradesh, C. Praveen Kumar hoisted the National Flag on the AP High Court premises at Amaravati. He received the guard of honour from the police personnel.

AP High Court Lawyers’ Association president Y.V. Ravi Prasad, state bar council chairman G. Ramarao, AP High Court Advocate General Sriram Subramanyam and others were present on the occasion.

High Court judges, advocates, officials, staff and bar council representatives participated in the flag hoisting programme.
