Former YSRC Kapu Leader To Join Jana Sena On July 20

VIJAYAWADA: Panchakarla Ramesh Babu, who recently resigned from the YSRC, met Jana Sena chief K. Pawan Kalyan and announced his decision to join the Jana Sena party on July 20. He expressed his willingness to work as a common worker in the party and stated that he would effectively handle any responsibility assigned to him by Pawan Kalyan. Welcoming the leader into the Jana Sena, Pawan Kalyan acknowledged Ramesh Babu’s experience and mentioned that the party would make use of it.

Ramesh Babu explained that he left the YSRC because his self-esteem was hurt. He alleged that there was a lack of accessibility in the YSRC, even for district presidents to meet Chief Minister and party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. He stated that he didn’t believe Jagan would announce another candidate's name for the next election while there was a sitting MLA. He also mentioned that he had no differences with YSRC regional coordinator Y.V. Subba Reddy.
Ramesh Babu belongs to the Kapu community in Visakhapatnam district. He entered politics before the 2009 elections through his involvement in a port-based business. He initially contested from Pendurthi on behalf of the Praja Rajyam, a party established by Konidela Chiranjeevi, and won. After the merger of Praja Rajyam with the Congress, he continued as a Congress MLA ,but later joined the Telugu Desam before the 2014 elections. In the 2019 assembly elections, he was defeated by the sitting MLA Ramanamurthy Raju.

Ramesh Babu resigned from the post of the TD Rural district president, taking moral responsibility for the party's defeat in the district, and joined the YSRC and was appointed as the district president.
