BJP says Telangana has no strong Opposition

Addressing a press conference here on Monday, he said the BJP had up the role to provide a strong Opposition which it is currently lacking.

Warangal: BJP general secretary P. Muralidhar Rao said the party was emerging as an alternative in the state as was evident from the recent Lok Sabha elections, where it won four seats. “The people are unhappy with the misdeeds of the TRS, they are looking at the BJP as an alternative,” Mr Muralidhar Rao said.

Addressing a press conference here on Monday, he said the BJP had up the role to provide a strong Opposition which it is currently lacking. The party has been working on strengthening its base across the country since coming to power in 2014, Mr Muralidhar Rao said.

“We are out to prove that the party’s success is not based on any political wave but on its performance. While the BJP has penetrated the northeastern states, our next target is the southern states. In addition to our stronghold in Karnataka, Telangana state takes the top spot on our agenda,” he said.

Mr Muralidhar Rao said the BJP provides the right platform for the leaders to fight against the TRS. He claimed that a large number of leaders cutting across political ideologies were ready to join the BJP.

“With the people starting to believe in the BJP, political leaders are strongly considering following the pulse of the people. Soon, the BJP will have a lot of leaders joining from various parties,” Mr Muralidhar Rao said.

He asked why the TRS government was not utilising the funds meant for Central government schemes and welfare schemes like Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) and Ayushman Bharat.

Threatening to “expose the failures” of the TRS government especially its promise of providing 2BHK houses to the poor Mr Muralidhar Rao said the BJP will take the issues to the people during the upcoming municipal elections.

Warangal Urban district BJP president Rao Padma Reddy, former MLA Marthineni Dharma Rao and former Rajya Sabha member Rapolu Anand Bhaskar were present.
