Dinesh Gundurao: Do you have enough evidence against George?

Ruling Cong is absolutely sure that the Minister is innocent'.

Bengaluru: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee working president, Dinesh Gundurao, on Friday dared the opposition and the media to provide evidence in support of Bengaluru development minister K. J. George's alleged role in suicide of Deputy Superintendent of Police M. K. Ganapati.

He told the media here: “The ruling Congress party is absolutely sure of one thing, which is Mr George's innocence. However, the media and opposition parties think differently on this issue. Therefore, I take this opportunity to challenge the media as well as the opposition parties to come out with a concrete

evidence against Mr George or any Congress party leader's involvement in this entire case. Once we lay our hands on any evidence, I will assure the people of Karnataka, on behalf of the Congress, that I will surely speak with the Chief Minister to consider other options.”

Besides, Mr Rao also charged that the Bharatiya Janata Party leaders are adopting double standards while highlighting two suicide cases involving Deputy Superintendents of Police.

“I fail to understand why these Bharatiya Janata Party leaders are trying to gain political mileage out of only Mr Ganapati's suicide. Why are they not raising issues related to Kallappa Handibag's suicide case? In the latter's case, Bharatiya Janata Party leaders attitude itself is in question as it is alleged that a leader belonging to Bajrang Dal is said to have harassed Handibag, which eventually led to his suicide. This issue they are not highlighting, whereas they are speaking only about Mr Ganapati. The Congress is not threatened by their agitation, but their agitation smacks of a partisan attitude,” he added.
