People waiting to oust KCR regime, says Revanth

Hyderabad: TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy said on Friday that the regularity with which leaders from other parties were joining the Congress reflected the anti-BRS sentiment that prevailed not only among the people but political leaders as well.

He said that the people did not have the patience to bear Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao's anarchic rule any longer, at a function where senior BRS leader and lawyer Gangapuram Rajender from Acchampeta constituency, former ZPTC member Bhimudu Naik and scores of BRS workers from Acchampeta and Charagonda mandals joined the Congress at Gandhi Bhavan.

Revanth Reddy said that the Congress was poised to come to power in Telangana. Around four crore people have been bearing the brunt of BRS excesses and misrule all these years. They are waiting for an opportunity to unseat the KCR government, he said.

Stating that Rao was not qualified to rule the state, the Congress leader said “Chinna Reddy from Palamuru initiated the Telangana statehood movement. Rajender, who joined the Congress on Friday, was active in the Telangana movement. KCR floated TRS for collections and mint crores. Has justice been done to Gangapuram Rajender, who carried the flag for 22 years? These dacoits should be chased away and we will take that responsibility.”

The TPCC president met Kodangal BRS leader and former MLA R. Gurunath Reddy. The two reportedly discussed the political scenario. Revanth Reddy formally invited the former MLA to join the Congress.

He also met family members of former MLA Kothakota Dayakar Reddy in Chinnachintakunta mandal Parkapuram village in Devarakadran constituency. Dayakar Reddy passed away a few days ago.

AICC leaders P.C. Viswanath and Mansur Ali Khan arrived in the city. They will welcome all new entrants during their stay.
