Govt failed to tackle dengue: KPCC president M M Hassan
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KPCC president M. M. Hassan has criticized the Government for its utter failure in tackling dengue. He also said that the Government was stoking the feud between top police officials, T. P. Senkumar and Tomin Thachankary. Mr Hassan said in a press meet held at Indira Bhavan that more than one and a half lakh fever-affected people had sought medical treatment in various hospitals across the State. He alleged that it showed the failure of the cleaning drive by various departments during the monsoons.
Mr Hassan came down heavily against the Government citing that they had not taken any precautions in tackling dengue and fever-related diseases. “83 persons have died in this June alone so far. Unfortunately it is the economically backward patients who have sought medical help at the Government hospitals. The government should give free ration and monetary help to tide over the crisis”, said Hassan. Regarding the feud between the two top police officials, Hassan said it was the Government who was promoting it. He alleged that Thachankary had been appointed to keep a tab on Senkumar. Hassan also claimed that the police administration had come to a standstill in the State.
