House-to-house visit raises hope for increase in positive votes to YSRC
VIJAYAWADA: The ruling YSR Congress is giving top priority to creating a positive response to the government from the masses through the ongoing Gadapa Gadapaku Mana Prabhutvam Mass Contact Programme. This will help it retain power in the state in the 2024 assembly elections, the party leadership feels.
The government is explaining to every house about the personal benefits they are getting from the government welfare schemes. Facts are presented in a booklet on the three years of the YSRC government’s welfare and development initiatives in AP.
The government booklet stated that 1.40 crore families were benefiting from the welfare schemes out of total of 1.67 crore families in AP; and 6.91 crore people are benefitting from multiple welfare schemes.
The MLAs are also listening to the problems and the issues of the people and are trying to resolve them.
The MLAs are presenting the booklet along with a letter from CM Jagan to every house.
Further, a Public Ballot paper is offered to every house with 50 questions on the development and welfare activities and giving phone numbers to people to lodge complaints if any.
The MLAs promised the families to resolve the problems related to infrastructure etc with a Rs 2 crore special allocation made by the government to each MLA.
The principal Opposition, Telugu Desam, started a counter programme in the name of Baaduday Baadudu under which party chief Chandrababu Naidu is holding rallies and public meetings, highlighting the “failures” of the YSRC government.
After completion of his Kuppam tour, Naidu would hold a series of protests under the Baaduday Baadudu and a public meeting at Kamalapuram on May 18, Dhone on May 19 and Penugonda on May 20. Senior leaders of TD were also conducting Baaduday Baadudu in their constituencies and this has raised the political heat in AP.
The YSRC leaders are countering the allegations of the TD by explaining the benefits obtained by the families, with details of the YSRC government schemes, during the Gadapa Gadapaku Mana Prabhuthvam programme. YSRC MLAs Malladi Vishnu, Vellampalli Srinivas Rao, Md Mustafa, Alla Ramakrishna and this is helping the people to know more about the dedication of Chief Minister Jagan Reddy towards fulfilling the party’s election promises. “He does so through flawless implementation of welfare schemes despite the state’s financial crisis in the Covid troubles,” they said.
