Hectic day for leaders on Kerala poll's eve
KOCHI: Candidates in all 14 constituencies had hectic last-minute silent campaigning on Sunday. Congress candidate in Tripunithura K. Babu visited Palluruthy Bhavaneeswara temple in the morning to attend the Pongala festival. He also attended marriage and other family functions in the constituency. CPM candidate M. Swaraj visited houses in Tripunithura, Palluruthy and other parts of the constituency in a last- minute effort to ensure votes.
BJP candidate Prof. Thuravoor Viswambharan visited Eroor, Panangad, Maradu, Edakochi and other areas. He also attended Bhagavatha Sapthaham at Panangad Ganapathy temple. Congress Ernakulam candidate Hibi Eden attended marriage functions and visited houses in the city, Cheranalloor, Thanthonithuruth and Kunnumpuram. CPM’s Adv. Anil Kumar was in last-minute hurry to meet voters in the city areas and other parts of the constituency. He also attended family functions of voters.
On the silent day of campaigning BJP candidate N.K. Mohandas visited Pattupurackal temple at Kaloor. He also met auto drivers at Gandhi Nagar and visited district general hospital and Sudheendra hospital. Prominent leaders from various sectors and candidates will exercise their franchise early in the morning.
Cardinal Mar George Alencherry will cast vote at St. Mary's School, Market Road, Ernakulam at 8 am.
Excise minister K. Babu will exercise his franchise at Girls Higher Secondary School, Tripunithura at 7 am. BJP candidate N.K Mohandas will cast vote at Governemnt LP School, Eloor at 7 am while Prof. Thuravoor Viswambharan will vote at SNDP School, Ayyappankavu at 7 am.
