Aravakurichi-like situation prevails all over TN: Tamilisai Soundararajan

She appealed to the voters to reject both the corrupt AIADMK and DMK parties and ensure a change for the better in the state.

Chennai: Wondering why the election commission had singled out Aravakurichi Assembly constituency in deferring the poll, BJP state president Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan said Aravakurichi-like situation is prevailing throughout Tamil Nadu and demanded that the election commission take action on AIADMK and DMK parties for “indulging in distributing money” to voters.

“Aravakurichi is not an island. The situation prevailing in entire Tamil Nadu is no different from what’s happening in Aravakurichi (Assembly constituency in Karur district in the state). This raises the question: should we hold the voting now?” she asked. Flaying the election commission for the decision to postpone the poll in one particular constituency as though everything was right in the rest of Tamil Nadu, she sought to know who the EC was punishing and who was being given a chance.

She appealed to the voters to reject both the corrupt AIADMK and DMK parties and ensure a change for the better in the state. Meanwhile, in a memorandum submitted to the Chief Election Commissioner and Chief Electoral Officer, by BJP state vice president D. Kuppuramu alleged that AIADMK members distributed money to voters in Kanyakumari, Vedaranyam, Bodinayakkanur, Villivakkam, Andipatti, R. K. Nagar, Pattukottai, Palani, Athur, Orathanadu, Thirumangalam, Madurai North, Viralimalai and Thiruvarur constituencies.
