Veerraju wants NHM staff wages paid

Vijayawada: BJP state president Somu Veerraju on Saturday demanded that state government immediately pay wages to nearly 6,000 employees involved in implementation of schemes under the National Health Mission (NHM).

In a statement, he said these staff have not received their salaries for past two weeks. They are facing trouble in meeting their household expenses as a result.

The BJP state chief wondered why their wages are being delayed though the centre is releasing 80 percent of funds related to its schemes in advance.

He objected to state government adopting different strategies for paying wages to employees of various departments.

BJP will agitate along with employees will agitate along with employees’ unions if the government fails to pay the wages immediately.
