Botsa wants thorough probe into Jagan attack case

VISAKHAPATNAM: Education minister Botsa Satyanarayana on Saturday asked the National Investigating Agency (NIA), which is probing the attack on Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy at Visakhapatnam airport in 2018, to conduct a comprehensive inquiry and unveil more details of the case.

Speaking to reporters in Srikakulam, he objected to certain media houses publishing misleading reports about the case, including that the attack had been “self-created”.

“Did Chandrababu Naidu stage his attack at Alipiri in 2003,” the minister asked. He said media houses are writing something other than what NIA has said in its report.

Botsa went on to point out that the man who had attacked Jagan Mohan Reddy at the airport worked for an organisation that had been owned by a Telugu Desam leader.

Taking on Chandrababu Naidu, the minister underlined that the YSRC government is completing both Bhogapuram airport and Bhavanapadu port, which the Telugu Desam did not.

“If TD tries to stop us from completing these two projects, the party will cease to exist in the state,” he remarked.

On Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, Botsa said YSRC is against its privatisation and is fighting the issue at the Delhi level. He maintained that Jana Sena and BRS are misleading people with the wrong campaigns.

Replying to a question, he said YSRC will definitely go it alone in the next elections.
