TRS seeks Sarve Satyanarayana's apology

Considering the sensitivity of the case and Mr Satyanarayana being a member of Opposition, the police are handling the case with caution.

Hyderabad: The ruling TRS has demanded former Union minister and Congress senior leader Sarve Satyanarayana to tender an apology to Medchal Collector M.V. Reddy and also to the revenue staff for allegedly insulting and abusing them at an official programme held in Balanagar on Saturday.

“Such actions by Mr Sarve is not new as he had earlier insulted Go-vernor E.S.L. Narasim-han at the Raj Bhavan,” TRS legislators Karne Prabhakar and Vemula Veeresham said, while addressing mediapersons on Sunday.

“Being a senior politician, this type of behaviour from Mr Sarve was unwarranted and unfortunate,” they felt.

TRS legislators said that the Telangana unit of the Congress was unable to digest the people-friendly governance of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and hence the frustration is getting revealed through their behaviour.

“Does the Congress hope to come back to power by indulging in such behaviour? Actua-lly its leaders are worried over minimal chan-ces of getting back to power for the next 20 years,” the MLAs said.

The ruling party also rubbished the national party’s allegations agai-nst energy minister Jagadish Reddy over land acquisition for new collectorate in Suryapet and against minister Jupally Krishna Rao on illegal sand mining.
