Pranab Mukherjee calls for leveraging synergies among armed forces

A total of 458 officers graduate from Defence Service Staff College in Wellington.

Ooty: President Pranab Mukherjee appealed to officers passing out from the Defence Service Staff College (DSSC) to discharge their responsibilities with a total sense of commitment, distinction, steadfastness and patriotic fervor.
Giving his convocation address on the occasion of the graduation ceremony of the 71st staff course at DSSC at Wellington near here on Friday evening, Mr. Mukherjee said that the DSSC, being one of the finest premier establishments, accentuates well orchestrated synergized employment and integrated functioning of the three services in a multi-spectrum conflict environment.

He said that the training curriculum at the DSSC is institutionalized to empower jointness amongst the armed forces. “It is now upon you to ensure that you use this understanding with utmost maturity and prudence to effectively leverage the combat power of our forces, when the country requires you, as custodians of peace and security, to preserve its sovereignty,” Mr.Mukherjee extolled.

A total of 458 officers including 34 officers from 25 friendly foreign countries graduated from the portals of the DSSC. The President also presented medals to the award winners and handed over parchments to the foreign officers.

While Dr K.Rosaiah, Governor of Tamil Nadu took part, Lt Gen SK Gadeock, Commandant of DSSC presented the ‘Banner of Excellence’ to Pranab Mukherjee.
