PMK promises grants for healthcare, education to each family

Enforcement of prohibition remains the party's main poll assurance despite the ruling AIADMK and DMK coming out with the same promise.

Chennai: Pattali Makkal Katchi on Friday released its manifesto assuring free education and healthcare worth Rs 1 lakh each to a family and assured to usher in all-round development if its chief ministerial candidate Anbumani Ramadoss was voted to power in the May 16 Assembly polls.

Enforcement of prohibition remains the party’s main poll assurance despite the ruling AIADMK and DMK coming out with the same promise. “When PMK came out with the slogan of ‘first day first signature’ to implement prohibition, many were sceptical about it. Now all the parties have supported prohibition, even AIADMK, which was opposing it till last month in the Assembly.

It is our first victory even before election. People know very well that prohibition can be implemented only by us,” Dr Anbumani said.
