Several politicians decided to make way for their children this time.

Vijayawada: In the first list of TD Assembly candidates, 10 seats went to heirs of political families. Several politicians decided to make way for their children this time.

Ministers K.E. Krishna Murthy and Paritala Sunita made way for their sons. Ms Sunita’s son Sriram will contest from Rapthadu, the pocketborough of the Paritala family, and Mr. Krishna Murthy’s son K.E. Shyam Babu will contest from Pathikonda.

From the Srikalahasthi segment in Chittoor district, veteran politician Bojjala Gopala Krishna Reddy is not contesting. His son Sudheer Reddy was given the ticket.

In the place of five-time MLA Gouthu Syama Sundara Sivaji, his daughter Sirisha was given the chance to contest from Palasa constituency in Srikakulam.

In the place of Vijayawada West MLA Jaleel Khan, his daughter Shabana Khatoon was nominated.

Mr Kidari Sravan Kumar, son of MLA Kidari Sarveswar Rao who was killed by Maoists in Vizag Agency a few months ago, has been given the ticket from Araku segment in Vizag. Devineni Avinash, son of former minister Devineni Nehru has been nominated to contest from Gudivada in Krishna district.

Late senior leader Gali Muddukrishnama Naidu’s son Bhanu Prakash was given the Nagari ticket in Chittoor. Muddukrishnama Naidu died a few days ago due to ill health.

Former minister Kimidi Mrunalini’s son Nagarjuna was given the opportunity in her place to contest from the Cheepurupalli segment in Vizianagaram district.
