Mayawati wants Pawan Kalyan to become AP chief minister

Ms Mayawati and Mr Kalyan jointly addressed a press conference at Lucknow.

Hyderabad: In a significant political development in view of the ensuing general elections, Bahujan Samaj party chief Mayawati and Jana Sena founder Pawan Kalyan announced on Friday, their alliance for the Lok Sabha and Assembly polls in Andhra Pradesh and the general elections in Telangana state.

TD president and AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has been talking with Ms Mayawati and SP chief Akhilesh Yadav for a pan-India anti-BJP alliance and TRS supremo and TS Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is trying to form a non-BJP non-Congress Federal Front.

Ms Mayawati and Mr Kalyan jointly addressed a press conference at Lucknow. Ms Mayawati said that she wished Mr Kalyan to become the CM of AP, he reciprocated by saying, “We would like to see Behenji Mayawatiji as the PM.”

Stating that people of AP wanted change, Ms Mayawati said, “The people of AP want new people to come to power. The BSP with Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena and some Communist parties will contest the elections in AP and Telangana.”

The BSP chief said, “I want Pawan Kalyan to become AP Chief Minister. The BSP is ready to ally with any regional party that is opposed to the BJP.”

Mr Kalyan said since Telangana people’s dream of a Dalit as a their first CM had been not fulfilled, the Jana Sena would make all efforts to see that Ms Mayawati becomes Prime Minister.
