KT Rama Rao to visit Warangal today
Warangal: With the notification for the GWMC elections likely to be announced after the Medaram Jatara, political parties in Warangal are preparing for the polls. Fresh from its thumping victory in the recent byelection and its landslide victory in the recent GHMC polls, the ruling TRS is looking formidable, while the Congress, TD and BJP have also started drawing strategies to fight the polls.
IT minister K.T. Rama Rao, who played a major role in the TRS’ victory in the GHMC elections will be visiting Warangal on Tuesday in connection with the polls. He will hold a meeting with party cadre and work out strategies to win this election too.
Unfazed by the exit of senior leaders like Gundu Sudharani and Errabelli Dayakar Rao, the district Telugu Desham leaders say they are confident to win more seats in the GWMC elections. Senior leader Revuri Prakash Reddy said that the party is at no loss due to the exit of Dayakar Rao. He said the party has a membership of 10 lakh in Telangana and with such strong cadre, they would fight the TRS effectively. With very less time left for the elections, the party got busy strengthening its booth level committees.
The Congress party has also started making its own strategies to make a comeback after receiving a drubbing from the TRS in recent elections.
DCC leaders headed by president Naini Rajender Reddy also met AICC vice president Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi to discuss the party’s strategies to go into the civic elections.
