Congress faults EVM tampering for defeat

Mr Hanumantha Rao has been levelling the allegations ever since the formation of the People's Front.

Hyderabad: Senior leader of the Congress in Telangana state, Mr V. Hanumanth Rao, on Friday said the main reasons for the party’s defeat in the recent Assembly elections were tampering of the Electronic Voting Machines by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi and it coverts in the party.

Mr Hanumantha Rao has been levelling the allegations ever since the formation of the People’s Front. He has said several times that some members of the Congress were in touch with TRS leaders and were leaking information to them. He had also warned the state leaders to be careful about the coverts in the party.

Mr hanumantha Rao also demanded that the BC reservation should be implemented in the panchayat elections. Speaking to media persons, Mr Hanumantha Rao said, “There were 33 per cent reservations for the BCs in the panchayat elections. But, KCR removed this to suppress the communities. Though there is 53 per cent BC population in the state, they are not getting the reservation.”
